We have just recently signed up for the Comment Challenge 2012 that is being hosted by Mother Reader (The heart of a mother. The Soul of a reader. The mouth of a smartass) and Lee Wind from I’m Here, I’m Queer, What the Hell do I Read? (you just gotta love those blog titles! How come I haven’t explored their sites yet?! tsk tsk).

The challenge runs from January 5 – 25 thus we are so late late late in joining the challenge. But as I said better late than never ever ever.

This will be the post where I keep track of all the comments that I have made in the blogosphere since 20th of January when we have decided to join. I wanted to try to trace back some of the comments I made since 5th of January and include them here – even though they are not technically counted to reaching the 100-mark-goal – but I decided against it and will just concentrate on the current comments I am making since yesterday. I will also keep track of the blog posts that I have commented in for this challenge so it shall ping back to them and might even interest other Comment-Challenge-Participants to visit their lovely sites. My own goal is to at least come up with 50 comments until the very last day of the challenge.

About Myra Garces-Bacsal

Myra is a Teacher Educator and a registered clinical psychologist based in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Prior to moving to the Middle East, she lived for eleven years in Singapore serving as a teacher educator. She has edited five books on rediscovering children’s literature in Asia (with a focus on the Philippines, Malaysia, India, China, Japan) as part of the proceedings for the Asian Festival of Children’s Content where she served as the Chair of the Programme Committee for the Asian Children’s Writers and Illustrators Conference from 2011 until 2019. While she is an academic by day, she is a closet poet and a book hunter at heart. When she is not reading or writing about books or planning her next reads, she is hoping desperately to smash that shuttlecock to smithereens because Badminton Is Life (still looking for badminton courts here at UAE - suggestions are most welcome).

    Myra, wow, this is amazing that you tracked the blogs. I’ve loved doing the comment challenge & the worst (really best) thing is that my reader is quite lengthy now. Fun that you joined. I hope you get lots of people going to the end of the list & finding you!

      Hi Linda, must be the teacher in me wanting to document everything – so that it’s all systematized. Hehehe. And my understanding is that the entire premise of doing the comment challenge is to build this warm community of bloggers who share the same passion (booksbooksandbooks!!), thus I’m more than happy to feature their posts here as well. I have a feeling I’d reach the 100 comment mark by Wednesday next week (teehee). 🙂

      Hi Zoe, surprisingly, I only jotted down less than five titles – most of the posts that I have commented on are Poetry Friday enthusiasts (very few books there) – while the others shared musings, video clips, library loot and random thoughts. I did discover quite a few books from the Perfect Picture Book Friday (which I hardly ever get to visit because of our involvement in Poetry Friday) – so that was quite a treat.
