[BHE 621] Poetry, Book Club Titles, and Book Gifts

Yay to physical book haul!

Myra here.

Over the past weeks, I have been sharing some e-picturebook finds, thanks to Libby. This week, I am glad to go back to sharing physical books with you all – some have been ordered online, others have been bought from Kinokuniya when we were there a few days ago to pick up our college kid who flew all the way from Seattle to Dubai.

Let me know if any of these titles are familiar to you.

Some Book Club Titles

The book on the left is for our Emirates Literature Foundation book club pick for July. And the book on the right is the #EuropaCollective book club pick for September over at Litsy.

(01) Wednesday’s Child by Yiyun Li (Amazon)

(02) A Long Way From Verona by Jane Gardam (Amazon)

For our book club of two, our college kid and I would be reading the book on the left, and if I am persuasive enough perhaps we can also read the book on the right.

(03) How Do You Live? by Genzaburo Yoshino (Amazon)

(04) The Earth In The Attic by Fady Joudah (Amazon)

Kinokuniya Book Finds by Our College Kid

(05) Manga Stories by Haruki Murakami adapted by Jean-Christophe Deveney and illustrations by PMGL (Amazon)

(06) Remina by Junji Ito (Amazon)

Book Gifts

My librarian friend gifted me these two books when she came to visit me here in Al Ain to generously deliver an SDG-themed recommended titles as part of my research project. How lucky can a book geek get?

(07) Water by Subhash Vyam (Amazon)

(08) Real Kids, Real Stories, Real Change: Courageous Actions Around The World by Garth Sundem (Amazon)

Poetry Book Collections by James Crews

I think I need these poetry book collections to feed my spirit.

(09) The Wonder Of Small Things: Poems Of Peace And Renewal edited by James Crews and Foreword by Nikita Gill (Amazon)

(10) The Path To Kindness: Poems Of Connection And Joy edited by James Crews and Foreword by Danusha Lameris (Amazon)

(11) Kindness Will Save The World: Stories Of Compassion And Connection by James Crews (Amazon)

(12) The Book Of What Stays by James Crews (Amazon)

How about you? Any recent book haul?
