While flowers are well and good, an actual ‘live’ thing, a story, breathing in your mind’s eye – as Ursula Le Guin has eloquently phrased it in Dancing At The Edge Of The World: Thoughts On Words, Women, Places (Amazon | Book Depository) – would be infinitely better.
