[BHE 531] Book Hunting in New York and Online Book Buys

Physical book haul.

Myra here.

My family and I are currently spending the summer holidays with family in the United States. Our point of entry from Abu Dhabi last July was in New York City. Naturally, I had to do some book shopping while in Manhattan and visited Strand Bookstore.

Modest Book Haul from Strand Bookstore

(01) On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder and Nora Krug (Amazon | Book Depository)

(02) One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston (Amazon | Book Depository)

#DecolonizeBookshelves2022 – Online Book Buys

I also took advantage of the fact that online book purchases are much cheaper while we are here in the US. Hence, I purchased the other titles from This Is The Canon book list that I still do not have. Now, I absolutely have no excuse to not decolonize my bookshelves (as if any excuse will be considered acceptable).

(03) Trumpet by Jackie Kay (Amazon | Book Depository)

(04) If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin (Amazon | Book Depository)

(05) Dancing In The Dark by Caryl Phillips (Amazon | Book Depository)

  1. Glad you are having a fun time this summer! My son just moved to Brooklyn. I wonder what the best bookstores are near him? I like the Groot.
