[Nonfiction Wednesday] We Are Turning 10 This Year! #GB101020

Happy 10 Year Blogiversary, GatheringBooks! #GB101020

Nonfiction+Picture+Book+Challenge+2020

Myra here.

We are delighted to join the Nonfiction Picture Book meme 2020 hosted by Alyson Beecher @ Kid Lit Frenzy. We would also be linking our nonfiction choices with our reading themes throughout the year, when we can.

Yes, you’ve read it right. GatheringBooks is celebrating its 10th year Blogiversary this July! It has been such a rollercoaster journey, seeing GatheringBooks scale up and grow exponentially before our eyes. Our brainchild has just hit the ground running and flying, and it is now ten years old. How awesome is that.

For our ten years this July, the entire month will be devoted to our List of 10, which we would try hard to connect to the daily memes in the kidlitosphere that we actively participate in. We are definitely not just confining ourselves to picturebooks or novels – we are also including films, poetry, Netflix series, animation, etc – whatever “list of 10” that catches our fancy this entire month for our 10th year in 2020, thus #GB101020. Naturally, our ten year blogiversary deserves a month-long celebration of sorts. My first contribution is:

The Top 10 Nonfiction Picturebooks I Discovered In 2020 (and have not reviewed yet).

I will not be doing a review of the titles yet (that is definitely forthcoming), just listing them down for the meanwhile for our #GB101020, and definitely listed down in no particular order.

(1) The Bluest Of Blues: Anna Atkins And The First Book Of Photographs by Fiona Robinson (Amazon | Book Depository)

(2) Paper Son: The Inspiring Story of Tyrus Wong, Immigrant And Artist by Julie Leung and Chris Sasaki (Amazon | Book Depository)
