This quarter’s theme has gotten me trawling through the furthest corners of my book collection for some memorable books from my childhood, with many thanks to my indulgent parents whom I don’t recall ever saying no to a book purchase.
One such book was God and Heroes from Viking Mythology (World Mythology Series) published in 1978. While I only had a vague recollection of the stories contained within the book, it was the spectacular illustrations that have stayed with me, and finding and opening the book brought an emotional rush of sentimental feelings.
I’m now on a mission to find the other books in the series – I definitely remember owning a copy of Gods, Men, and Monsters from the Greek Myths, but these other titles in the series look amazing too.
