I have been on a Mary Oliver binge since we have launched our new theme – mainly because I find her poems and prose poetry bewitching and enchanting (Ok, I tried) – and I do perceive her as the Goddess of Poetry. So there you go.
When I first learned of this book that features the shared art of Mary Oliver and her long time partner Molly Malone Cook, I immediately purchased it and devoured it as soon as I received it. The text is predictably sparse – as much of the space is devoted to Molly Malone Cook’s photographs – but what a privilege to see the inter-layering and the juxtaposition of the images selected by Mary Oliver, and her accompanying textual narrative.
Here are a few that stood out for me.
How many can claim that they have shimmering family rooms filled with sunshine and love? Here is another one of my favourites, and which I am sure is familiar to most Poetry Friday enthusiasts. Enjoy!

Gathering Books 
Mary Oliver is a delight, as always. I love the idea of suddenly waking up to someone’s new skill — and asking oneself, “Who is this thrilling new person!?” I don’t have this Oliver book — yet — and I thank you for the little book review!
