Myra here.
A few weeks back, I’ve had the privilege of going to the United States again to present at another gifted conference, this time in Albuquerque, New Mexico. What a pleasure to be talking books to teachers, really.

I initially had no plans of doing any kind of book hunting, as this was a pretty short trip – not even an entire week. I was very fortunate that a friend from Litsy (see my posts here about Litsy) who is based in New Mexico, had time to meet up with me.

Reggie is part of my #HorrorPostalBookClub #ScreamsByMail group consisting of two women from Canada, two people from the US (including Reggie, the one I met up in Albuquerque), one from Spain, Germany – and myself. We are thrilled to finally meet each other face to face after exchanging books and reading journals for the past two years now. If not for him, I would not have visited this lovely bookstore with the equally lovely booksellers who clearly know their books.

Address: 4022 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107
Here are the books that I bought:

Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo (Amazon | Book Depository),
Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor (Amazon | Book Depository).
Reggie was generous enough to buy me one book from the bookstore (the one by Stradal) which he says is one of his favourites. And he also gave me three of his other books that he loves. How lucky am I, really? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Book People are the Best People! 🙂

The Lager Queen Of Minnesota by J. Ryan Stradal (Amazon | Book Depository),
Tim And Pete by James Robert Baker (Amazon | Book Depository).

Peel My Love Like An Onion by Ana Castillo (Amazon | Book Depository),
In The Name Of Salome by Julia Alvarez (Amazon | Book Depository).
You’re based in the UAE? I was just over there (first time). Different city though. All of your books look great. The Evaristo is on my TBR.
