[BHE 306] Library Haul and Hunting Graphic Novel Memoirs and Biographies from my Shelves

Graphic Novel Memoirs, Biographies, and Library Haul

Myra here.

EVERY Sunday, we share our book haul or books that found their way into our shelves. These may be library books or novels that have been sent to us to be featured here or simply books that we bought from our recent or long-ago travels or our many book hunting expeditions. This week is somewhat special as we will be launching our new reading theme for April – June tomorrow. I think you will have some idea what that is through the books I borrowed from the library.

Library Haul

Symphony For The City Of The Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich And The Siege Of Leningrad by M. T. Anderson, Vincent And Theo: The Van Gogh Brothers by Deborah Heiligman.

We Are Okay by Nina LaCour, The Cosmobiography Of Sun Ra by Chris Raschka.

Lost In NYC: A Subway Adventure by Nadja Spiegelman and Sergio Garcia Sanchez, Pyongyang: A Journey In North Korea by Guy Delisle.

Bolivar by Sean Rubin.

Hunting From My Shelves

These are the titles that I am hoping to feature for our upcoming reading theme. Anything look familiar to you?

Kill My Mother by Jules Feiffer, Swallow Me Whole by Nate Powell.

Rosalie Lightning by Tom Hart.

Wild by Cheryl Strayed, Frantumaglia: A Writer’s Journey by Elena Ferrante.

A Year Without Mom by Dasha Tolstikova, The Wild Book by Juan Villoro and Translated by Lawrence Schimel.

I think it’s pretty clear by now what our upcoming theme is. Any suggestions of books that we should continue hunting down in the coming months?
