[Photo Journal] Praise for Poseidon – Greek Food in Munich

Poseidon Restaurant in Munich

Myra here.

Every Tuesday, we share photographs from our recent or long-ago travels, or just everyday stuff that appealed to our mindful eye and sharp sensibilities as captured through fleeting images.

Poseidon – Greek Food in Munich

My family and I absolutely adore Greek food. We especially love the cheese and the grilled meats and the sweets (we are in love with baklava). This place in Munich is one of our favourites. It is very near the Nymphenburg Castle and is roughly around 5 km away from where we were staying near the Blutenburg Castle. The servings are huge, the waiters fairly attentive, and they do provide you with lots of freebies – such as this shot of vodka and the sweets that we were given after our dessert. Clearly, they know how to take care of their customers. I am afraid I won’t be able to name these dishes any longer – it’s been nearly a year, now. I miss it everyday, though.

“You can’t just eat good food. You’ve got to talk about it too. And you’ve got to talk about it to somebody who understands that kind of food.”
― Kurt Vonnegut, Jailbird

“Here with a Loaf of Bread beneath the Bough,
A Flask of Wine, a Book of Verse – and Thou
Beside me singing in the Wilderness –
And Wilderness is Paradise now.”
― Omar Khayyám

“Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.”
― G.K. Chesterton, Alarms and Discursions

“To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living.”
― Anthony Bourdain, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly

“Give me a good sharp knife and a good sharp cheese and I’m a happy man.”
― George R.R. Martin

“I’m not a vegetarian! I’m a dessertarian!”
― Bill Watterson, Something Under the Bed is Drooling: A Calvin and Hobbes Collection

So we got this as freebie. Isn’t that sweet?

Very satisfied customers.
