Book Hunting Expeditions Reading Life

[BHE 300] Picturebook Finds from the Library (Part One of Two)

Picturebook Library Finds

Myra here.

This is our 300th post for book hunting expeditions Sunday! Woohoo! This is a milestone for us. We do look forward to sharing the books that hunted us down from retail, second-hand, vintage, or independent bookstores, books that screamed out at us from the library shelves, or books that have adopted us from our recent or long-ago travels. This week, I am happy to share a few of my picturebook library finds.

Finalists for CYBILS Fiction Picturebooks

I’ve already read and reviewed a few of the finalists for this year’s CYBILS fiction picturebook awards such as The Book Of Mistakes by Corinna Luyken (click here to be taken to my review and the image to be taken to Book Depository)…

… and Flowers for Sarajevo by John McCutcheon and Illustrated by Kristy Caldwell (see here for my review).

So I borrowed the remaining ones I was able to find from our library:

Creepy Pair Of Underwear by Aaron Reynolds and Illustrated by Peter Brown, Escargot by Dashka Slater and Illustrated by Sydney Hanson, Big Cat, Little Cat by Elisha Cooper.

After The Fall: How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again by Dan Santat.

Baabwaa & Wooliam by David Elliott and Illustrated by Melissa Sweet.

David Bowie Online Book Club

So I borrowed this a few weeks back, in my efforts (well more like good intentions, really) to join the David Bowie Online Book Club: Hawksmoor by Peter Ackroyd.

How about you, fellow book geeks? Any books that hunted/haunted you down over the past several weeks?
