[Photo Journal] Overlooking Zurich

photojournal

Myra here.

Every Tuesday, we share photographs from our recent or long-ago travels, or just everyday stuff that appealed to our mindful eye and sharp sensibilities as captured through fleeting images.

Overlooking Zurich

Last week, I shared photos from the day trip I took in Lucerne. These photographs were taken during my last day in Zurich, when I just walked and walked and made sure that I see the beautiful sights around the area.

“We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls.”
― Anaïs Nin

“Not I, nor anyone else can travel that road for you.
You must travel it by yourself.
It is not far. It is within reach.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know.
Perhaps it is everywhere – on water and land.”
― Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass

“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
― Heraclitus

“The only journey is the one within.”
― Rainer Maria Rilke

“The most important reason for going from one place to another is to see what’s in between, and they took great pleasure in doing just that.”
― Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth

“No matter where you are, you’re always a bit on your own, always an outsider.”
― Banana Yoshimoto

They may spend their whole lives aliens among their kindred and remain aloof among the only scenes they have ever known. Perhaps it is this sense of strangeness that sends men far and wide in the search for something permanent, to which they may attach themselves. Perhaps some deep-rooted atavism urges the wanderer back to lands which his ancestors left in the dim beginnings of history.”
― W. Somerset Maugham

“The sea is only the embodiment of a
supernatural and wonderful existence.
It is nothing but love and emotion;
it is the ‘Living Infinite…”
― Jules Verne

“If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads.”
― Anatole France
