[Photo Journal] Bridge of Love in Salzburg

photojournal

Myra here.

Every Tuesday, we share photographs from our recent or long-ago travels, or just everyday stuff that appealed to our mindful eye and sharp sensibilities as captured through fleeting images.

Bridge of Love in Salzburg

I dubbed this bridge the Bridge of Love as it is filled with padlocks brought by lovers to express their undying devotion to each other.

The river is such a beautiful spot – well, the entire city of Salzburg really – that there are many artists and tourists who just plop down in corners to find inspiration from this gorgeous place.

“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
― Dr. Seuss

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”
― Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being A Wallflower

You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”
― Bob Marley

“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche

“Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.”
― Anaïs Nin

  1. Beautiful pictures! I hope to get to Austria someday. I hope this lock bridge doesn’t suffer the same fate as the one in Paris.
