[BHE 242] Christmas Book Loot from Book Squad Exchanges and Our Singapore Version of Iceland’s Jólabókaflóðið (Christmas Book Flood)

Myra here.

It is Sunday once again! Time for us to share the books that have managed to find their way into our hands over the past weeks or so. Today, I am excited to share my belated Christmas book loot from my book squads here in Singapore as well as the ones I received from my family as we do ascribe to Iceland’s Jólabókaflóðið or Christmas Book Flood.

Christmas Loot from Book Squads in Singapore

Technically, I have three book clubs here in Singapore. Two of my book clubs did manage to have a get together in December to do our annual book exchange. Look at those happy faces.

Here is my loot:

The Book Of Joy by Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu with Douglas Abrams, The Abundance: Narrative Essays Old and New by Annie Dillard. Food for the soul indeed.

Technically, the book is supposedly Kenneth’s but I stole it from him: The Sellout by Paul Beatty. Good steal, I thought.

Merry Christmas and Happy Jólabókaflóðið (Christmas Book Flood)

We use Christmas as an excuse to splurge on books in our family.

Well, at least for my daughter and myself. Hehe.
