[Photo Journal] Marionette Show in Salzburg

Myra here.

Every Tuesday, we share photographs from our recent or long-ago travels, or just everyday stuff that appealed to our mindful eye and sharp sensibilities as captured through fleeting images.

Marionette Show in Salzburg

Last week, I shared Welt Der Marionetten (World of String Puppets) in Salzburg. As promised, this week, I am sharing snippets from a marionette theatre show we were able to watch while in Salzburg. We only spent a weekend there (arrived Friday evening and left Sunday night), but we knew that it was a must-see, and so we did.

In front of the Salzburger Marionetten Theatre. Apologies, but I can’t seem to remember what the title of the show is.

In the lobby of the theatre. We were the first to arrive.

The interior of the theatre. The entire show was in German, by the way. There were summarized captions found at the end of each important scene. It was enough to give us an idea of what was happening.

To say that I love the decor of the entire place would be an understatement.

My theatre geek.

This is definitely one of the highlights during our Salzburg trip.

She has edited five books on rediscovering children’s literature in Asia (with a focus on the Philippines, Malaysia, India, China, Japan) as part of the proceedings for the Asian Festival of Children’s Content where she serves as the Chair of the Programme Committee for the Asian Children’s Writers and Illustrators Conference. While she is an academic by day, she is a closet poet and a book hunter at heart. When she is not reading or writing about books or planning her next reads or meeting up with her book club friends, she is smashing that shuttlecock to smithereens because Badminton Is Life.
