Myra here.
It is an extra special book hunting expedition post, as we are launching our new reading theme this November – December: Dragons, Mermaids, Vampires: Legendary Beasts and Mythical Creatures.
Essentially, we are looking for the following titles:
- Fantasy, fantasy, and more fantasy
- Books that are dreamlike, surreal, otherworldly
- Mythical creatures like the phoenix, gryphon, unicorns, dragons, mermaids
- Vampires and Zombies, Angels and Demons
Book Hunting from my Own Shelves
Here are some titles that I have been meaning to get to for the longest time now. Our current reading theme now provides me with the perfect excuse to finally bump them up into my to be read stack.
The Creeping Shadow by Jonathan Stroud, Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
The Girl Who Raced Fairyland All The Way Home by Catherynne M. Valente, The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin, The Obelisk Gate by N. K. Jemisin
Encyclopedia of Mysterious Places: The Life and Legends of Ancient Sites around the World by Robert Ingpen and Philip Wilkinson, Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction by Jeff Vandermeer
Clive Barker Omnibus!
