Fats here.
Last week, I shared Joyce Sidman’s poem entitled, A List of Things That Will Set You Free. Today, I have another poem taken from the same poetry collection, What the Heart Knows: Chants, Charms, and Blessings, which Joyce Sidman created in collaboration with Pamela Zagarenski.
Thank you, Heidi Mordhorst of My Juicy Little Universe, for hosting this week’s
Poetry Friday round-up!
“I find peace in the flashing arms of a crowd.” I love that image and so many others in this poem. Thanks for sharing.

That book is so wonderful, Fats. I think I missed your post last week, so glad to read this poem again. We need a lot of peach this year. Thanks for sharing this particular one.

I like the way this acknowledges that different people find peace in different ways at different times. And we do need peach as well as peace, I think, Linda!

We all need peace in our thoughts. Great poem.

Oh, I’m so glad that you chose to share this one; it is one of my favorite books by Joyce Sidman. There are so many good poems in this book that just beg to be said aloud, to let your tongue delight in the saying of the words. This is a book that just feels and tastes right in your mouth. Thank you for this post.

I love how this poem brings to mind that there are as many ways to find peace as there are people in the world… everyone’s experience is important. I find peace in the curl of a cat beside me on the bed, a quilt, the quiet, empty house. Thank you!
