[BHE 191] Christmas Book Loot and SG Book Deals at Big Box

Myra here.

I am excited to share my book loot from this Christmas – both from my two book clubs – and a fairly recent book sale by SG Book Deals at Big Box. I am so glad that there are so many book sales here in Singapore.

Christmas Loot from Book Clubs

True to form, our end-of-year gathering was all about a bookish version of the White Elephant Book Exchange.

The photo above is my book club – GatheringReaders at NIE.

And from Saturday Night Out For Book Geeks (SNOB-Geeks) – we didn’t have a group photo with our book loot unfortunately.

And so my book loot from GatheringReaders at NIE – which I totally stole from someone else:

The Age of Magic by Ben Okri.

And my loot from SNOB-Geeks:

If I Were A Book by José Jorge Letria and illustrations by André Letria – from Dave Liew (Thanks, Dave!) and Absolutely Truly by Heather Vogel Frederick (Thanks, Dave Seow!).

This photo is being shared on Facebook by book-loving friends.

While we technically do not live in Iceland, we ascribe to a very Happy Jolabokaflod, while Tatay gets his Kobe rubber shoes and new basketball as per usual!

My Book Loot

Look at that. Gorgeous.

I see my husband loves me truly – and my daughter too as she had to find and carry all these books from Kinokuniya. Thank you to my best enablers in the world: The World Of Ice and Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and The Game Of Thrones by George R. R. Martin.

Check out those inside pages. Beautiful. Now I understand why it’s taking George R. R. Martin an inordinately long time to publish the last two novels in the series.

Harry Potter Colouring Book (my gift to my girl), Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland: A Colouring Book (my girl’s gift to me) – clearly we know each other’s hearts.

My 14 year old Daughter’s Book Loot

This is what she received for her birthday: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone illustrated by Jim Kay
