Sunday is my favourite day of the week, as I get to share the books that have successfully hunted me down and found their way home into my bookshelves. This week, I am excited as I have a diverse set of titles to share with you all.
Book Loot from Park Lane Mall
Photo courtesy of my friend and fellow book-geek Amelia Abdullahsani-Gerick who told me about this discounted book place in Park Lane Mall beside my daughter’s school. And so we visited this place and I ended up buying the following books:
Authority by Jeff Vandermeer, When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris, and The Dreamer by Pam Muñoz Ryan and Peter Sis (which I have reviewed here).
I realized that I didn’t have my own copy of these two novels which I am glad to find on sale here: The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran and Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman.
A few book buys from Kinokuniya Bookstore
I took advantage of the 20% discount offered by Kinokuniya to Members to purchase a few Terry Pratchett titles that are missing in my collection: Equal Rites and The Light Fantastic. I have 18 more titles that I have to hunt down before I start reading the series.
This is my 13 year old girl’s book choice while we were at Kino: Map My Heart by Dom & Ink.
Book Presents from Beautiful Friends
The award-winning Australian author Ken Spillman was here a few weeks back for Words Go Round, and he gave me this beautiful book as a gift: The Great Storyteller by Ken Spillman and art by Manjari Chakravarti.
Such a lovely message from Ken.
A fellow book geek knows about my love affair with David Levithan, and so she gave me her review copy: Hold Me Closer – The Tiny Cooper Story A Musical Novel by David Levithan.
The Cultural Medallion Artist Milenko Prvacki gave me this precious book a few weeks back. After Memory: The Art of Milenko Prvacki – 40 Years by Charles Merewether.
My beautiful signed copy from Milenko. 🙂
