It is Sunday once again. Time for us to share the books that have stalked us, followed us, and breathed down our necks until we had no choice but to adopt them and bring them home. Here are a few of my random book buys in the past several weeks or so.
Book Buy from Silver Kris Bookshop at Marine Parade
Haruki Murakami and I have not had a good relationship thus far (or perhaps to be more accurate a non-relationship), and because of that I have not had a chance to read most of his novels. I shall try not to be remiss any longer and I vow to read one of his supposed best novels to date: The Wind-up Bird Chronicle.
Book buys from Kinokuniya
I was a trifle disappointed with the tattered condition of the copy we have in our library, so I thought it would be best to just purchase my own copy: The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
Colorless Tsukuri Tazaki And His Years Of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami.
From Evernew Bras Basah
Warriors: Crookedstar’s Promise by Erin Hunter.
The picturebooks are on sale at 3 for 5 dollars and so here they are: two picturebooks by Max Lucado You are Special and You Are Mine.
All The Places You Love by Patricia Maclahlan and paintings by Mike Wimmer.
I am slowly introducing my 12 year old girl to Arthurian legend, and when I discovered this book from the library, I just knew I have to borrow it Robin Hood by Nicky Raven and illuminated by Anne Yvonne Gilbert.
And since I’ve been hearing so many great things about this book: My Teacher Is a Monster! No, I am Not. By Peter Brown.
Also for my 12 year old girl: Comics Squad Recess! edited by Jennifer L. Holm, Matthew Holm, and Jarrett J. Krosoczka.
And one of what I believe to be my most valuable finds: The Little Endless Storybook by Jill Thompson. Based on Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series, when Dream, Death, and Delirium were children.
