[BHE 122] Book Hunting at Clementi Vibe and Steampunk!!

BHE

Myra here.

It’s Sunday! Time for us to share the books that have haunted and hunted us down until we finally gave in and found a space for them in our bookshelves and adopted them. Fairly recently, I had the pleasure of doing my usual book hunting expedition at Clementi Vibe Mall when I discovered that Evernew, one of my favourite book stores in Bras Basah, had its usual book sale at several malls here in Singapore. If you want to know the rest of their schedule in the upcoming weeks, click here to find out.

I got a few books from this pile here.

My 12 year old daughter got her books from this stack here.

99 Fear Street: The First Horror, Fear Street: The Perfect Date, Fear Street: The Confession, Fear Street Sagas: House of Whispers, Fear Street: Cheerleaders The New Evil by R. L. Stine. My 12 year old girl bought this for 1 dollar each. The condition is not as good as one would wish it to be with yellowed pages, hence the price.

My Book Finds: 3 for 10 dollars

My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Maurier, The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion.

Say You’re One Of Them by Uwem Akpan, Starbook by Ben Okri.

I would say that these are my great finds, primarily because I have a collection of these novels, and I am glad that I have found them.

The Dark Volume by G. W. Dahlquist and The Looking Glass Wars: Seeing Redd by Frank Beddor.

Library Loot: Steampunk!

I just borrowed these two babies from the public library last week in preparation for our upcoming reading theme: Steampunk: Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein illustrated by Zdenko Basic and Manuel Sumberac, Steampunk H.G. Wells illustrated by Zdenko Basic.

How about you, dear friends, any book hunting expeditions recently?

  1. What a fun glimpse into your book buying experience! R.L. Stine books haven’t been published for almost 20 years, so the condition of moist is horrible. Oddly, I hardly ever buy any books for myself and am getting rid of things that I have. Our public library is great, so I usually feed my TBR from there. Thanks for sharing about your bookstore trip!
