Welcome GatheringReaders! I am excited to engage my book club participants with an online discussion about our Book of the Month this August: David Almond’s My Name Is Mina.

What is the best thing you like about Mina?
What are Mina’s thoughts about school? Why do you think she feels this way?

1. Yes, I have finished the book and i really like it.
2. I like how Mina is poetic and descriptive and also how she is different from everyone.
3. She doesnt like school because her teachers think she is an obnoxious know it all and no one really understands her and i mean she is in my class cnat u take the same one also misjudge Mina.

1. I have finished the book and it was weird… but fun! The different word fonts makes it cool!
2. She has a mind- different from others. Who imagine themselves as birds?
3. She HATES school. She has to follow what the teacher ask her to write and not write freely, or a composition- with blank pages or making up words. :):):):):):):)
