Iphigene Here.
Because celebrating love is something we’re doing big this year, I’ve decided to share an original poem. I wrote this back in 2007 and it was inspired by the girl a friend of mine was pining for.
Like Rain©
by Iphigene Daradar
She loves you like rain
in too much heat
from the ocean
she rises to your
cloud like embrace.
she lingers
fill you up to heavy
and she falls
slowly easing out
of your soft arms
and crashing to the ground
in tears
marrying with hot asphalt
til her sheet of charcoal concrete
dries to gray
and you
stare down
floating aimlessly
til she rises from her sea
and be rain
like she always is.

I hope you enjoy it. Have you ever experienced being loved like rain?
