Myra here.
I am glad to join this week’s Poetry Friday hosted by Buffy Silverman of Buffy’s Blog.
We are again very privileged to share our featured poet for Poet’s Sanctum, Nerisa Guevara’s original work with us today.
This time she speaks about one of my favourite places in Manila – Malate. Savor its intricacies, dear friends.
If you wish to know more about Nerisa, click here to be taken to her blog.About the Poet: Nerisa del Carmen Guevara finished her M.A. in English Studies Creative Writing at University of the Philippines (U.P.), Diliman. Terrific poem! I love the memories revealed in a place scrubbed of memories–thanks for sharing it.

Time to close doors and move on? I like the idea that it’s autobiographical, perhaps not, but I hear the ‘voice’ of hope really-moving out into a new world. Thanks Myra, & hope you get a bit of rest and enjoy the holidays with your family!

Magical, hopeful, inspiring… I especially loved the section about the light, full of possibility, bouncing off the walls and pouncing like a stray white cat. Thanks Myra!
