It is Tuesday! Time for Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Story Challenge. Letter this week is U and so I share a few photographs from Universal Studios in Los Angeles when we were there sometime in 2010. We also have our own Universal Studios here in Singapore, but because we have already gone to the one in LA, we really do not see the need (nor the point) to visit a similar themed-park again. Of course I might be singing a different tune this December. We shall see.
Universal Studios, Los Angeles
It was a whirlwind adventure for us during our first trip to the US with a visit to Disneyland and also to this beautiful place. Thanks to my sister-in-law and her family who showed us around.
It was lovely seeing the studio of actual shows we were watching on TV.
I can not for the life of me remember whether these are actual bronze statues or whether they were live, breathing actors.
One of the more entertaining sights seen during that tour.
Must have been a car used for The Fast and the Furious – once again the details are quite hazy for me.
Where there is fire, there shall be water. This must have been from a film, again, I can not recall which one.
From calm waters, this became a raging froth of waves and rocks.
It was truly a lovely experience for us. These gorgeous photos make me nostalgic. Maybe I will visit Universal Studios here in Singapore in the coming weeks or so. 🙂

Worst times: The absolute worst time of year to visit is during spring break — usually the 2 weeks prior to and after Easter. The crowds are unbelievable, the lines are unbearable (my kids have waited upwards of 2 hr. to hop on some of the most popular attractions), waiting times at local restaurants can lead to starvation, and traffic — particularly on International Drive — will give you a headache. The December holidays and summer, when out-of-state visitors take advantage of school breaks and many locals bring their families to the parks (the latter also flock to the parks during Florida resident discount months, which usually fall in May and Nov), can also prove a challenge. Packed parking lots are the norm during the week before and after Christmas, and the summer brings with it oppressive heat and humidity.

We did Disney many years ago with our son, but never had time to fit in Universal Studios, so thanks for sharing.
