It is Tuesday, time for Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Story Challenge. Letter this week is J and so I share a few photographs when my good friend and I journeyed from Budapest to Bratislava by train.
J is for Journey
My travel buddy, Tuting Hernandez and I took the train from Budapest to Bratislava. Unlike our country-hopping experience two years back by bus (Berlin – Prague – Vienna – Berlin), we were in a bit of quandary this time around as to whether we were on the right track, in the literal sense of the word.
It was not very clear which line we were supposed to be in, there was very little time given for boarding…
and tickets were only checked after the train has left and while the passengers were in the middle of their journey.
Another passenger (an American guy in his early thirties) who was in a different coach also asked us about the train’s particulars with an exasperated “This is all so confusing.” Which made us feel a bit relieved that we were not the only ones struggling with the train system.
Gladly, we did arrive in Bratislava in one piece. We simply thought of the experience as another adventure – hoping that the journey would take us where we need to be.
Ha ha ha we did some training in Hungary last year and yes indeed what a confusion! But all the Hungarians seemed to know what was going on!

Good shots…I was on a train on Sunday and never thought of it as ‘journey’.
