Photo Journal/ A-Z Photo Challenge: E is for Endings

It’s Tuesday in our part of the world – time for Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Challenge. Letter this week is E and I choose the theme Endings. I simply selected a few photographs that gave me a ‘sense of ending.’

Endings in Sausalito, California

“Everything has to come to an end, sometime.”
― L. Frank BaumThe Marvelous Land of Oz

“It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.”
― Paulo CoelhoThe Zahir

Endings in Pulau Ubin

“My day is done, and I am like a boat drawn on the beach, listening to the dance-music of the tide in the evening.” ― Rabindranath TagoreStray Birds

And because everything ends, because dreams end, stories end, life ends, at the finish of everything we use his name. “It’s finished,” we tell one another, “it’s over. Khattam-Shud: The End.”
― Salman RushdieHaroun And The Sea Of Stories

Myra is a Teacher Educator and a registered clinical psychologist based in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Prior to moving to the Middle East, she lived for eleven years in Singapore serving as a teacher educator. She has edited five books on rediscovering children’s literature in Asia (with a focus on the Philippines, Malaysia, India, China, Japan) as part of the proceedings for the Asian Festival of Children’s Content where she served as the Chair of the Programme Committee for the Asian Children’s Writers and Illustrators Conference from 2011 until 2019. While she is an academic by day, she is a closet poet and a book hunter at heart. When she is not reading or writing about books or planning her next reads, she is hoping desperately to smash that shuttlecock to smithereens because Badminton Is Life (still looking for badminton courts here at UAE - suggestions are most welcome).

  1. thank you for your term ENDING, Myra – for me: standing at an ocean, where rivers are ending, I always have the strange feeling, that my life is complete now; an ending, calming down…

  2. something so important and so often overlooked, things do some to an end, it behoves us to realise this, acknowledge it and let go at the appropriate time … thanks myra 🙂
