This week’s Photo Challenge as hosted by folks at The Daily Post at WordPress is Beyond. And so I thought of sharing a few photographs from some of my travels.
Beyond: New York
While the shot is focused on the view finder from Liberty Island, one can see the buildings in Manhattan just beyond the waters.
“The city seen from the Queensboro Bridge is always the city seen for the first time, in its first wild promise of all the mystery and beauty in the world.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Beyond: Chinese Garden in Singapore
My family and I once celebrated Chinese New Year at the Chinese Garden here in Singapore. While one can clearly see the shot of me and my daughter, one could also glimpse the Chinese temple beyond the trees.
“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.”
― T.S. Eliot, Four Quartets
Beyond: Bahrain
In this photograph, one is able to see the layers of old and new Bahrain. On the foreground, one sees this World Heritage Site: Qal’at Al-Bahrain – Ancient Harbour and Capital of Dilmun. If you look beyond the old walls and sand, you would glimpse the modern city and skyscrapers – not quite out-of-reach.
“I love being in cities with lots of other people, because I’m reminded that there are billions of people like me, and we are each stuck inside of our minds, feverishly trying to crawl out to make connections with other people.” ― John Green

The viewfinder in New York, says it all. What we will see, is right there at the background. Interesting shot. 🙂
