It’s Tuesday once more! Time for Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Challenge, letter this week is Y and such a perfect time indeed to share Yuletide photos. Originally, I meant to share pictures of huge, albeit synthetic, Christmas trees around Singapore (and there are quite a lot of them). And then I was reminded of our White Christmas in the States in 2010 with family. And so, here are a few of my photographs taken during our road trip to Lake Tahoe.
Yuletide Trees
“Christmas doesn’t come from a store, maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more….”
― Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas
“I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. ”
― Norman Vincent Peale

“Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth; that can transport the sailor and the traveller, thousands of miles away, back to his own fire-side and his quiet home!”
― Charles Dickens

“At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I’ve grown old, the bell still rings for me, as it does for all who truly believe.”
― Chris Van Allsburg, The Polar Express
