It’s our 23rd post for our Book Hunting Expedition here in GatheringBooks. As per usual, I am sharing the books that I borrowed from our library here in Singapore – this time I borrowed a few books from our NIE Library.
Fats has written a beautiful review of The Heart and the Bottle by Oliver Jeffers. So I thought that I might as well borrow and read this one.
What can I say? I can’t get enough of Walter Moers: The Alchemaster’s Apprentice. I honestly don’t know when I would steal the time to read all these novels, but I shall make time for things I love, that’s for sure.
Children’s Books from Epigram
I am also very excited to receive these fabulous new picture books from Epigram Books here in Singapore. These four books are gorgeous selections of children’s picture books from around the globe (Spain, Italy, France, and Korea) and translated from their original languages to English: Why Cats don’t Wear Hats by Spanish author Victoria Perez Escriva, illustrated by Ester Garcia, and translated from the Spanish by Silvia Hagge de Crespin; The King and The Frog by Alain Chiche and illustrated by Sylvian Diez and translated from the French by poet Kevin J M Keane; I Love Chocolate by Swiss-born Italian writer Davide Cali and illustrated by Evelyn Daviddi; and Blanket Travel by writer and illustrator Kim Da-Jeong, published for the first time. I shall be reviewing these four books very soon!
