It is time for Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Challenge once again. Letter this week is K and I choose the theme Koala Kingdom and share with you a few of the photos I have taken while I was in Brisbane Australia two years ago. I have to admit that I have fallen deeply in love with Brisbane. While I also enjoyed Sydney and stayed there longer, there was something about Brisbane and its old-world, laid-back yet highly creative vibe that appealed to me so. I was there to attend a conference at the University of Queensland but I found the time to see a few of the sights there. And this is one of the places we visited.

“Some people talk to animals. Not many listen though. That’s the problem.”
― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
“People speak sometimes about the “bestial” cruelty of man, but that is terribly unjust and offensive to beasts, no animal could ever be so cruel as a man, so artfully, so artistically cruel.”
― Fyodor Dostoyevsky
“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”
― John Muir
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”
― Anatole France
“I think I could turn and live with the animals, they are so placid and self contained;
I stand and look at them long and long.
They do not sweat and whine about their condition;
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins;
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God;
Not one is dissatisfied-not one is demented with the mania of owning things;
Not one kneels to another, nor his kind that lived thousands of years ago;
Not one is responsible or industrious over the whole earth.”
― Walt Whitman
“Animals never worry about Heaven or Hell. Neither do I. Maybe that’s why we get along”
― Charles Bukowski, The Last Night of the Earth Poems
“Animals are born who they are, accept it, and that is that. They live with greater peace than people do.”
― Gregory Maguire, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
“And the fox said to the little prince: men have forgotten this truth, but you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
