It is Tuesday in our part of the world, time for Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Challenge. Letter this week is I and so I have chosen the theme: Indonesia. It has been three years since we have last visited Indonesia and my traveler’s feet are aching to wander yet again. We only visited an Island in Indonesia called Bintan Lagoon – it was really just plainly for rest and relaxation. Here are some of our photos from that lovely week-long vacation.
“The person you have known a long tme is embedded in you like a jewel. The person you have just met casts out a few glistening beams & you are fascinated to see more of them. How many more are there? With someone you’ve barely met the curiosity is intoxicating.”
― Naomi Shihab Nye
“Wherever you go, you take yourself with you.”
― Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book
“It is always sad to leave a place to which one knows one will never return. Such are the melancolies du voyage: perhaps they are one of the most rewarding things about traveling.”
― Gustave Flaubert, Flaubert in Egypt: A Sensibility on Tour
“My dream is to walk around the world. A smallish backpack, all essentials neatly in place. A camera. A notebook. A traveling paint set. A hat. Good shoes. A nice pleated (green?) skirt for the occasional seaside hotel afternoon dance.”
― Maira Kalman, The Principles of Uncertainty
“To move, to breathe, to fly, to float,
To gain all while you give,
To roam the roads of lands remote,
To travel is to live.”
― Hans Christian Andersen, The Fairy Tale of My Life: An Autobiography
