Before I get carried away by this post,
Myra, Iphigene, and I would like to greet Singapore a
Happy 47th Birthday!!

Today’s Photo Journal chronicles the exhausting but fun adventure I had at Lake Murray, a reservoir located within the Mission Trails Regional Park in La Mesa, CA. I have seen a few friends post their sunset pictures in this place, and it was truly magnificent. I didn’t go during sundown, however. I went there mid-morning, and it was a bright, sunny day (not to mention hot!). Here are a few pictures taken and edited through my iPhone 4.

A lake carries you into recesses of feeling otherwise impenetrable.
~ William Wordsworth

A lake is the landscape’s most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.
~ Henry David Thoreau

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It’s always our self we find in the sea.
~ e.e. cummings

The great fact in life, the always possible escape from dullness, was the lake. The sun rose out of it, the day began there; it was like an open door that nobody could shut. The land and all its dreariness could never close in on you. You had only to look at the lake, and you knew you would soon be free.
~ Willa Cather
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet’s wings.
~ William Butler Yeats
The photos look amazing. Once again, I envy the filters you used here. What did you use for the 2nd photo? the blue and green one with the stones?
And yes, Majulah Singapura!
