It is Tuesday once more, time for Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Challenge. Letter this week is F and I will be sharing Food Stories with you, as I do a yummylicious round-up of a few restaurants that we have visited while we were in the States. I would not be putting in my usual quotes as is our wont/practice here for our Photo Journal – this would be more of a travelogue really so that those who may be visiting the following cities would have a few ideas of places to go to for your meals.
Applebee’s Jersey City
We didn’t really eat much here – we just met up with very good friends who now live in Jersey City and who wanted to share a light meal with us – so we just had our favorite appetizer and dessert.

Denny’s, Casino Royale, Las Vegas
3411 S. Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109
We had dinner here after we watched Beatles Love at The Mirage which is just across the street, if I am not mistaken. Denny’s is a staple for us every time we visit the States. Just like IHOP, we love their pancakes and their huge servings.

Ricardo’s Las Vegas
4930 West Flamingo Road Las Vegas, NV 89103
I love love love Mexican dishes. Since we have very few really good Mexican restaurants here in Singapore, I am actively on the lookout for nice places when we travel overseas. It turns out, this place is kind of pricey, but we didn’t find the food extraordinarily great.

Serendipity, Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas
One of my best girlfriends who live in San Francisco told me to visit this place when she learned that I was staying in Las Vegas. She swears by their desserts and so we gave it a try.

In & Out Burger, Las Vegas
9610 West Tropicana Avenue
We can not possibly visit the US without going to In & Out Burger. During the last week of our stay in Las Vegas, we probably ate here almost on a daily basis. This branch is a little far from the Strip, so it’s not as crowded as the others.
It was quite late though when we discovered that they had this super-secret menu, which was a tragedy for us. My daughter dislikes eating burgers, so she would always dread our visits here. Little did we know that they actually had a grilled cheese sandwich without the burger! She enjoyed it greatly.

Olive Garden, Las Vegas
1361 South Decatur Boulevard, Las Vegas
I saved the best for last. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. It was my friend who first brought us to their branch while we were in San Francisco, and we have never forgotten their distinctive taste and their yummylicious dishes. We knew we just had to find their branch in Las Vegas, and we were lucky that we had such wonderful servers who would often refill our salad, our drinks, our breadsticks – they were simply wonderful.

Am so happy you had a great time eating your way from New York, Las Vegas to San Francisco! The dishes looked yummy, but the amaretto frozen hot chocolate caught my eye. Glad you had such a wonderful time! Love the phot of you and your daughter. So how much weight did you gain? LOL Just kidding!

Hi Pat! Yes, we did have a grand time. 🙂 I thought I might as well worry about weight [and work-related matters] when we return back home here in Singapore (hehehe). We miss Olive Garden and In & Out! 🙂

I know, Erik. Olive Garden is the best. We have La Nonna here in Singapore which has great-tasting pasta as well, and Capricciosa, but nothing tastes like Olive Garden, really. Would love to bring you to those places here in Singapore though if you come visit! 🙂

Thanks for the visit, I’m hungry too, but I can’t eat much since I just had a painful dental surgery and gums are swollen still. These photos are little comfort, though. 🙂

I’m starving now! And I really miss In and Out burgers. I haven’t had one since I was a kid. Not sure if they would taste the same now. I’m off to look for food.

Hi TBM, I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t had In N Out Burgers for quite awhile now. It’s so sad that they have not really expanded as much as they should.

for sure you have enough FOOD, water, restaurants, entertainment in Las Vegas – in the center of a desert; well organized …

Hi Frizz, you’re right. Some of the photos here, however, were not taken in Las Vegas. There’s one in New Jersey. 🙂
