Photo Journal/ Weekly Photo Challenge: Dreaming

It’s Saturday! Time for the Weekly Photo Challenge – theme today is Dreaming. After much deliberation, I thought I would share a few photos of my daughter when she was younger – primarily because I see dreams, fairy tales, and untold stories in her face.

“I believe in everything until it’s disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it’s in your mind. Who’s to say that dreams and nightmares aren’t as real as the here and now?”
― John Lennon

“I dream. Sometimes I think that’s the only right thing to do.”
― Haruki MurakamiSputnik Sweetheart

“You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you. That’s where I’ll be waiting.”
― J.M. BarriePeter Pan

“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”
― Edgar Allan Poe

How about you, dear friends? What is your ‘dreaming’ photo? Leave your link in the Comments Section and I’d be sure to visit your post.

Prior to moving to the Middle East, she lived for eleven years in Singapore serving as a teacher educator. She has edited five books on rediscovering children’s literature in Asia (with a focus on the Philippines, Malaysia, India, China, Japan) as part of the proceedings for the Asian Festival of Children’s Content where she served as the Chair of the Programme Committee for the Asian Children’s Writers and Illustrators Conference from 2011 until 2019. While she is an academic by day, she is a closet poet and a book hunter at heart. When she is not reading or writing about books or planning her next reads, she is hoping desperately to smash that shuttlecock to smithereens because Badminton Is Life (still looking for badminton courts here at UAE - suggestions are most welcome).

  12. Beautiful photos and quotes. I agree — there are stories in her face. She seems an old soul, already taken many journeys through time and space.
