Finish Line for Bloggiesta

Whew! Bloggiesta Weekend is definitely over. This will be our final post for Bloggiesta. We definitely enjoyed being with Pedro this weekend, and as the quote below states

The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.

Update on Goals

As can be seen in our to-do list here, we have mostly been successful (if the scratched items are any indication). Essentially, we were able to do the following:

  • Relocate blog roll to one nifty page
  • Create a drop down menu for the challenges GB joined for the year.
  • Edit the site Slider (update it)
  • Create Drop down menu for our 2012 Bi-monthly themes.
  • Fats has commented on 18 different blogs (hooray for her) for the Perfect Picture Book Friday post.
  • Update our Goodreads and Shelfari site
  • Create a Pinterest Board for the List of Circus, Carnivale/Paranormal Themed Books
  • We managed to schedule several advance posts (I think our next two weeks is pretty okay now)
  • We learned a lot through the tutorial sessions and mini-challenges
  • We made new friends!

Update on Mini-Challenges

  1. WOW!! Congrats on all your hard work! And you even found time to knock out 5 mini challenges. I am trying to do the last few things now.

  2. You got a ton done! Way to go!

I’m just glad I got my blog looking more the way I want it. I think the next bloggiesta, I’m gonna focus more on some of the enhancements you guys have mastered here.

    • Hi Leah Marie, thanks for dropping by. Iphigene is actually the one who mastered various IT-enhancements, we have a lot to learn from her as well. Perhaps during the next Bloggiesta, I can convince her to do a mini-challenge!

  3. Congrats on accomplishing so much! Your blog is looking so good and I love all the drop down menus. Way to go on all the commenting too!

Hopefully you can continue to revisit the challenges on your own and still keep learning. Enjoy and thanks so much for participating in Bloggiesta! We’ll see you again in September!

    • Hi Danielle, we will definitely join you again in September, we didn’t get around to really striking through all of our goals, and we deliberately left a few unfinished (hahaha, what a lame excuse), so that we can list them down for September. 🙂 Thanks for the compliment, by the way, I’m sure Iphigene would be very pleased to read that.

  4. Congrats on crossing so many things off of your to-do list! Love the drop down menus!

  5. Great job! You managed to get a lot done! I really like your blogroll — it’s nice and neat. I didn’t get around to doing mine this time around, but maybe next time. I also like your challenge drop-down — that makes it so much easier to find all your challenges!

And scheduling is awesome … I try to do 2 months in advance for reviews, but I’m way ahead, so I’m expecting to catch up with that at some point.

Congratulations on getting so much done!

    • Hi there Kristilyn, unfortunately I didnt get around to upadting our blogroll, perhaps we can list that down as one of our goals for the next Bloggiesta. Oh wow, 2 months in advance for reviews? That’s a career! Absolutely amazing. We only manage up to two weeks in advance. 🙂 Congratulations too!

Great job! You definitely got a lot done!

  7. Love all the drop down menus and blog roll, navigating is easier! I loved having Fats comment on my blog :-). Sounds like you achieved a whole lot. Well done, you guys!

    • I’m very proud of Fats’ progress when it comes to visiting blogs and leaving comments. She initially had a few ‘scares’ about the whole IT-related process of gravatars and such, but looks like she figured it out, yay for her! Slowly easing her into the community. 🙂

  8. I’ve got to tear myself away from the computer now. Bloggiesta can’t last forever, and real-life demands are pressing in, but I’m trying to keep up the habit of commenting instead of just stopping by. I’ve checked out A Gathering of Books a couple of times during Bloggiesta. It seems very well organized, even with so much content! Mine seems pretty much a jumble in comparison, but I think I’m limited in what I can do by the WordPress theme. (At least, that’s my excuse for now!)

  9. Great work! Looks like you accomplished a lot and had a lot of fun. I tried the comment challenge but lost track. Oh well, it got me motivated to write better comments!

  10. Congrats on getting so much done. I always find these events to be so productive, plus I end up with a new list at the end of things I still want to do after visiting everyone.

I would love to be able to create drop-down menus on my blog…is this a wordpress only thing or does it work for blogger?

  11. Congratulations on accomplishing all that you did! That’s so awesome. And, I’m glad to see another Shelfari person out there. I love it so much more than Goodreads, but so many people use Goodreads that I do both.

  12. You ladies got a lot done this weekend!

It was really wonderful connecting with you guys over the weekend. I look forward to perusing about your blog more! And hopefully I will see you guys in the fall for the next Bloggiesta event! 🙂

  13. Your blog looks awesome! I’m so glad you were able to get so much done. Way to go! 🙂

  14. You guys are insane. But in a good way. Congratulations on getting through Bloggiesta. All the challenges! All the new friends! I really don’t know how you do it. I mean, coordination seems so tricky, especially with three of you in different places, right?

I’m looking forward to the next Bloggiesta with you guys. I’m sure I’ll see you around again soon, though! Love your blog! x

    • Read your comment, while Myra should be the one replying (this being her post), I couldn’t help but drop a line. The coordination can be tricky, there’s constant exchange on when and who will post, but it usually begins with lines like: So how much can you commit? And from there we usually adjust. And if we need to cover for each other on our missed deadlines we do.
I’m mostly the admin-girl, I write posts when I can, but a great majority of my blog time is spent adjusting this and that on the site so this little bloggiesta was an interesting thing. I do hope to be more active when it comes around next time.

Glad you enjoyed our blog. Hope to visit your blog soon. 🙂
