This is the fourth time that we are joining Teaser Tuesday, a weekly meme that is hosted by Miz B from Should Be Reading. As per usual, here’s the drill:
- Grab your current read/s.
- Open to a random page.
- Share “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page (I deleted the ‘two sentences’ bit since I tend to include more than two sentences, truth be told).
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I usually share several teasers from three of the books that I am currently reading. Same goes for this week.
Orchards by Holly Thompson
my arms no longer ache my back and shoulders feel strong but the day is long and when conversation stops among the leaves and it’s just the breathing of wind in trees and the mee-mee-mee-meeen of cicadas there is much too much time for my thoughts
The 39 Clues Book 10, Into the Gauntlet by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Treasures destroyed, hopes destroyed, lives destroyed… does it ever end? he wondered, as images flickered and died on the wall before him.
The juxtaposition of three words – hopes, lives, destroyed – brought a flash to his mind of the lively, charming Hope Cahill, murdered years ago. Amy looked more and more like her every time he saw her.
Last of the Nephilim by Bryan Davis

Heat surged into his ears. A flood of images, like ghosts with warped faces, flashed in his mind’s eye. An ancient book, Fama Regis, lay on the table in his old living room, before their house burned to the ground. A hand, his father’s hand, opened it and turned to a drawing of a dragon in combat with a knight. The furious eyes of the dragon seemed to glow, yet they were little more than white dots in the center of a red pupil. This memory echoed the reality of his first glimpse of the ancient book. When he had gazed at the picture, he had noticed a striking similarity between the artist’s style and his own, especially in the dragon’s eye.
I love those covers!
