Short video snippet from the 25th year anniversary of the Society for Reading and Literacy

Here is the short video clip as promised:

I recalled one of the audience telling me after the talk that my daughter is very lucky to have a mom who is able to pick out good books for her to read. I replied that I am the lucky one. If not for motherhood and my child, I would not have known about (and rediscovered) the magic that is children’s literature. Enjoy the video everyone! =)

I think readers, as your audience I assume were, can all relate to this journey. In relation to choosing books for your child, i remembered my aunt. Her son loves books and it was a challenge for her to find books that would satisfy her son’s curiosity and challenge him. Hopefully by pointing them to our site he got himself a hefty list. 🙂

Sweet Valley High….who hasn’t read it? I mean seriously. Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield was almost an obsession during my time too. We had the twins, the high, and the university.

Exactly. Very high school musical right? I’m sure the books were direct sources for the newfangled series right now on television. Hahaha. That lovematch book from sweet dreams is the perfect plot for HSM: the boy was a jock and the girl was the smartypants. See, same ole storyline/plot, different packaging. Hahaha.
